The location is the only good point. There was no bellboy at check-in, and despite asking many times, we weren’t given bath towels. Room cleanliness is a serious problem: the toilets were dirty, and the curtains looked like they hadn’t been washed in years.

It’s a good family stay overall, close to the palace, with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, good service, and good food. Breakfast was nice too, though it could be tastier. What I didn’t like was having to run three full buckets of cold water before warm water came through for a bath.

We arrived late at night with family and kids and had no other option, so we paid the full amount for 12 hours. Then they charged another Rs 1000 per room for just one extra hour at checkout. It felt like they were trying to squeeze money out of us, with no hospitality at all. Even a cup of coffee or tea was bad and cost 50 rs. The room was dirty, with filthy mattresses, a fungus-covered bed and chairs, a moldy ceiling, and a toilet and commode that were very unclean. The toiletries in the toilet weren’t working, there were no bathroom accessories, and there was no exhaust fan. The white towels were black with dirt. The air drier sounded like a generator. We stayed only because of our difficult situation, otherwise we’d have left. There was no proper reception staff or parking space. The staff were rude to customers and fought among themselves in some home town Urdu language. They didn’t speak proper Kannada. They charged heavily for a one-hour delay even though the hotel was empty on a weekday. They show a low price when booking, then seem to charge customers for one thing or another inside. One night was enough to show us many problems. The only good person was the room boy who carried the luggage to and from the room. The reception lady, manager, and others managing the place felt like frauds. Be careful. Please, please, please don’t book here if you’re traveling with family. They’re the worst, and the only way to get through it seems to be paying them for everything. Money, money, money.

Honestly, it was awful. The bathroom smelled terrible, and everything seemed broken, rusty, or dusty. We asked for towels five times. Each time they said the towels were in the laundry and held up in traffic. It got pretty funny. There was no minibar fridge, and its switch was broken. Huge mosquitoes were in the room. There’s no general store nearby for water, and they charge Rs. 32 for a one-litre bottle. After seeing the place’s “hygiene,” we skipped the free breakfast.

The food we ordered was lovely, and the rooms were clean. Service was quite friendly too. This seems like a good place for a family trip with kids in mysuru.
