Country Inn & Suites By Carlson Mysore

We were a family group with kids for two nights and three days at Mysore county retreat. Reception welcomed us warmly, and no one was rude. The location was beautiful and felt safe for children, with CCTV all around. Our room was clean when we checked in, had a large TV and Wi-Fi, and there was hot water around the clock. There was a welcome drink by reception for guests to help themselves to. The biggest problem was the poor upkeep and service. Nobody came to clean our rooms during the two days, even after repeated calls and reminders. The rubbish stayed, and there were no fresh towels or changed sheets. Extra beds were booked, three per room, but we got only one, after waiting until 10pm. The kids got tired, so the other rooms had to make do with the existing beds. The pool had broken tiles inside, and the nearby toilet had no proper shower for bathing. It looked like the pool hadn't been cleaned for some time. The ladies' restroom drain was clogged with dirt and hair, leaving water standing, though new towels were provided. The complimentary breakfast was very poor, with no taste, and the vegetarian and non-vegetarian buffets were set up together. The South Indian dishes like idly and pongal were terrible. The in-house restaurant was overpriced too. We won't recommend this hotel. Overall maintenance was very poor.

The room had no view and felt small for what we paid. Its amenities also look old and outdated, and it needs a lot of maintenance to come close to justifying the price. The bathroom was dated, there was no hair dryer, and only two towels were provided, with no extra face towels. The mini fridge was empty. The AC struggled to cool the room, even at 20 degrees, its lowest setting. The TV was there, but nothing was connected; I asked room service to fix it and they never did. Internet was super slow. The buffet cost too much, the food was mostly cold, and there was always just one starter. The stay itself was okay, I could sleep well, and the food was passable, nothing to brag about. Staff were well mannered, kind, responsive, and provided good hospitality. I’d give it a solid 3/5 only because of them.

For the price they charge, this level of service is unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend the hotel to anyone wanting a comfortable, hassle-free stay. Staff kept delaying requests and didn't seem concerned about guest comfort. Service overall was slow and unprofessional. The AC barely worked, so the room was extremely uncomfortable in the heat. I complained several times, but the problem was either ignored or dealt with very late. Management wouldn't accept a mistake or take responsibility, making excuses instead of fixing things. A very disappointing experience.

Staff paid attention, and the stay was pleasant overall. The food tasted nice, though I wasn't very happy with breakfast. What the breakfast menu showed didn't match what was actually served in the complimentary area. It could also have been cleaner, with more choices available. Aside from that, I enjoyed the experience. Thank you.
