It’s an affordable place with convenient connections, right opposite Nagapattinam junction, and there’s a restaurant on the ground floor. The hotel isn’t luxurious, though: the rooms and furniture are old. There’s no AC remote, so you have to use the power switch, and the water heater switch is near reception. For the price and location, it’s good value.

My 67-year-old wife and I, at 63, were refused because we’re foreigners. I’m absolutely shocked. It was a horrifying experience. Don’t use this hotel. This does happen occasionally in India, and the government should step in and prosecute when this kind of behaviour occurs.

The parotta is very good, and the chilli fish is really tasty. It’s great that they’ve kept up the quality for so many years.

The owner is friendly and can help with travel, and you can pay by Google Pay. The ground-floor restaurant is handy, and the railway station is just a two-minute walk away. The hotel has 24-hour hot water, provides a towel and soap, and everything works. I paid ₹800 for a room in February 2025.
