Nagoa Grande Hotel

I celebrated my birthday here, and the team made it feel special with lovely decorations. The rooms were kept clean, the restaurant food was good, and everyone was polite and attentive. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the service was amazing. I loved staying here. Ambience: 10/10, service: 10/10.

The breakfast and dinner menus had plenty of choice, and the food tasted as good as it does in delhi. Our poolside room had lots of space for two, and the staff were helpful and polite. They also arranged airport pickup and drop-off. Just outside the entrance, there’s a shop where you can rent a car or scooter. A new-model Swift was 1200 per day. North Goa market is about 4 km away, with beaches and shopping within roughly 10 km. Rooms go for around 4500 a day, which I thought was worth it. We came through a family reference and had a great experience.

I slept well, since the bed was the one good part. The hotel sits in a safe area, but the view is of broken buildings, and people were burning waste right in front. The rooms were never cleaned, especially the bathroom, and the rules made the place feel more like a hostel run by a warden than a hotel. It may be fine if you just need a cheap place to stay, but I’d look elsewhere for a proper long holiday.

The staff had a helpful attitude, and when I reported the lock they came right away, though it only locked after two or three tries. The food was average overall: a few dishes were good, while others were poorly made. We arrived late for the buffet one day, and they kindly gave us whatever complimentary food they could. Still, the maintenance was poor. The pool had broken tiles, leaves and dirt in the water, and walls that needed painting. Other guests were enjoying it, but I couldn't bring myself to get in. The bathroom smelled even though housekeeping cleaned it daily, and the spa was very poor. Some rooms had hair dryers and others had none; the sliding cupboard was difficult to use too. When we arrived, the printer for ID photocopies wasn't working. On the day we left, they charged me 500 rupees for a basket missing from my room and treated me as if I were a thief, even though there had been kids and other people in the room. That was a terrible customer care experience. I won't visit again.
