Hotel Sukhakarta

I just checked in and found the AC remote and TV weren't working, and there was no hot water in the shower. After taking an advance, the staff refused my refund request, saying, “Sir, you should have checked the room. Now you're stuck,” then laughed at me and walked away while blaming the owner. The staff and owner clearly don't care. Worst hotel ever.

The stay was comfortable, towels were quite clean, and room service was quick. But for what they charge, this place is below average: dusty rooms, hair on the bedsheets, and sheets that looked used even after washing. The AC worked, while the bathrooms were dirty and smelled bad. The main-road location is prominent, opposite Sai mandir, but inside it feels gloomy, almost like a bar, and there is one. Network barely worked inside, though it was fine on the balconies. You could manage a quick night here, but I think OYO rooms are better. I've only stayed at one other hotel in Nagpur, on my first visit, and it was much better. The owner should improve room cleanliness, use room freshener, and take better care of the washrooms.

The road-view rooms have a pleasant outlook, and the staff are good. Restaurant food and drinks are good too, but even some complimentary drinking water would be better than charging for it. The rest of the property feels neglected and needs a major overhaul. It has old tube lights, incandescent lamps, non-remote window AC units, and old manual lifts. Walls and switches are untidy, the bathrooms aren't maintained well, and the whole building has a worn coat of paint. The main entrance ramp has a 45 degree slope, which is hazardous for children and elderly people. It needs stairs with handrails. The rooms and stay are very average for the price and aren't properly maintained.

Food quality is amazing, though a little expensive. The rooms are good but compact, and the service is really good, with polite staff who respond promptly. Mornings are busy since the property is right by the road, while nights are calm.
