Days Inn Nainital by Goroomgo

Dirty sheets, an unclean washroom, and rooms that seemed poorly maintained made this stay awful. They charged 4500/- for a room that I felt wasn’t worth even 500/-. We’d only checked in because nearly all the good hotels were sold out. There was a whole scene in our room with the manager shouting at staff while we sat there watching, but basic hygiene still wasn’t taken care of. None of the rooms seemed properly maintained. The reception person said in front of us, “k jitne jada mil rahe Ho le lo.” At checkout I asked if they cared about reviews, and they barely responded, just ignored me after the bills were paid. Avoid staying here unless you want to spend your money on an unhygienic, unclean washroom.

The rooms and staff were fine, and it’s only a two-minute ride to Mall Road/Nainital Lake. Parking is small, with space for 2-3 cars and a few bikes. The complimentary breakfast for oyo bookings was paratha with pickle and tea, the same each day. My main problem was the centralised geyser, which they only ran in the mornings. I wash my face often, so dealing with freezing water was difficult.

I paid 2500 for a room that didn’t feel worth even 500 bucks. They first called to say no rooms were available and offered an alternative I found online for 1/3 of the price. After a lot of arguing, they gave me a room, but it stank badly. The sheets were dirty, there were spider webs, and it didn’t look like the rooms were cleaned at all. Even the public toilets are better, and I can’t understand how it got this unclean. Staff seemed uninterested in me or my stay. Please don’t choose this place if you don’t want to regret it. What a terrible experience.

The room was decent, but the washroom was very small and cramped. There’s no WiFi, and hot water doesn’t run all day. The facilities don’t match the charges, and it’s around 2-3 km from the main market. I’d only choose this ordinary hotel if I had no other option.
