The payment issue with Dhanlakshmi Tours became the worst part of our stay. The hotel said it hadn’t received payment from the agency, even though our booking was through them and the arrangements were meant to be handled between the two businesses. Staff pressured us to pay the balance ourselves and try to recover it later. We shouldn’t have been pulled into that dispute, and it felt at times like we were being blamed for something outside our control. They wouldn’t let us check out, which felt like being held hostage. The local police weren’t helping and seemed to favor the hotel, and the hotel even lied to them to keep us there. Service was poor from the start. Requests were ignored or delayed, staff seemed unprofessional, and cleanliness and hygiene were below standard, making things uncomfortable. We also asked the staff to provide food for our driver, but they refused even after we discussed it repeatedly. That showed little care for guests. The manager’s treatment of staff was also unpleasant and unprofessional to watch. How employees are treated says a lot about an organization, and what we saw was concerning. Poor service, hygiene problems, the payment dispute, and the way management acted made this one of our worst hotel stays. I wouldn’t recommend it unless customer service and guest management improve significantly.

The people here were especially caring, polite, and helpful, and I’d happily stay again. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the service was outstanding. The location also made it easy to get around. One of the best hotel stays I’ve had.

You have to walk up about 100 meters from the main road, but cars can reach the hotel and there’s parking. The view over Bhimtal lake is amazing, and that location is a big plus. We were told the hotel is being renovated. The new rooms are great, while the old ones are just okay for the price. If you get a new room, it’s great; otherwise, the older rooms are passable. Food quality was okay, but service was poor. Only two people were taking orders and serving, breakfast choices were limited to two or three basic items, and there was a long wait after ordering. Don’t expect anything fancy. When we complained, the owner or manager started scolding the staff. The real problem seems to be management.

Yashpal ji was especially supportive and polite, always going out of his way to help when needed. We had a pleasant stay at Royal Rosette Hotel in Bhimtal, with a beautiful view of Bhimtal Lake from the property. The food had a nice homely taste, and the rooms were clean and well maintained, with neat interiors and basic comforts like working cable TV and hot water in the washroom. It’s a comfortable, budget-friendly choice with good service, and I’d recommend it to people visiting Bhimtal.
