Hotel Moon 2 by Oyo Rooms

A nice place for a family stay, with kind and humble staff. The food is tasty too. Good for relaxing.

I stayed three nights with my family and came away very disappointed. The rooms were cramped, with hardly space to walk, and weren’t hygienic: dusty floors, messy beds and torn, unwashed blankets. Bathrooms were missing basics like a faucet gun and toiletries. Hot water was only available from 7-11 AM. The food was average, though the parathas were good. Definitely not worth 3k+ per night. I’d look at other options for that price.

The rooms are nice, but the parking situation is awful. If you leave your car there in the morning, you can’t get it out until the next morning. One of the worst parking experiences I’ve had. The manager said we could take a local bike taxy if we wanted to go somewhere.

I’ve travelled since childhood, but this was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, on my first visit to Nainital. It’s about 2.5 kms from Naini lake. A hotel should have water in the bathroom. At first, the room we booked had no water problem, but around 10, when tourists should be able to retire after a long, tiring day and get water or hot water in a colder region, we got none. Staff ignored our complaints. We’d paid in full and didn’t deserve that. The rooms were poorly maintained, the bathroom door lock didn’t work, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. There were insects on the bathroom floor. Staff didn’t care how we were managing and told us to adjust for their comfort in an aggressive, totally unprofessional tone. The food was unhygienic too. I vomited three times on my way to Ramnagar after eating their complimentary breakfast. Anyone planning a visit to Nainital should stay away.
