Hotel Silk

The owners and staff were so rude. They told me, “Do whatever you can, but I won’t give you a booking.” On the phone they demanded lots of details before sharing the room rate, then said no rooms were available when I questioned why those details were needed. Later, after I booked through makemytrip and had traveled all the way there, they denied the booking. I wasted three hours on them. They have so much arrogance, and online platforms are helping them with fake reviews. Hotels like this should be barred, and I don’t know how local authorities let them run a hospitality business. Not recommended at all. Choose your own safety wisely. Getting there was difficult too. Google Maps sent me to a dirty nallah and a blocked road, then to a closed gate. I called the hotel for directions only after walking 1.5 km. The area is so confined that even an electric auto or bike can’t reach during the day. Once there, I found out they don’t have mineral water, only RO water. After that long walk I was very thirsty, but didn’t want to drink it, so I insisted they show me the RO system. They resisted twice before showing it, and it looked nonfunctional to me. The room had no ventilation and smelled foul. The windows opened onto a confined balcony, not outside. There’s no lift, and bathrooms and washrooms are shared by each floor. My request to extend the booking for a second day was cancelled by the hotel without my permission.

The hotel was good, and the staff were polite, helpful, and good too.

The room and attached washroom were clean and nice. We arrived around 10:45 pm and, as requested by phone from the train, were able to get a warm meal without any trouble. The men who looked after us during the stay deserve praise for how they dealt with us. Keep two things in mind when choosing this hotel: although it’s close to the Railway Station, cars can’t reach the gate from 8 or 8:30 am until 9 pm. Also, all the family rooms are on the second and third floors, and there’s no elevator.

The balcony view is good, and there’s narrow-road parking for two-wheelers. I booked a single room with a promotional discount from goibibo. It was neat and had a towel, blanket, table and chair, and daily soap. The washroom is shared, with one for four rooms on the third floor, and there’s no lift. It’s okay for bachelors and couples, but privacy is an issue because the air cooler is fitted outside the room.
