Rooftop Cottages & Restaurant, Pangot

The rooms and ambience are good, and there's natural beauty all around. The staff seemed experienced, and the food quality was good, but the breakfast and dinner choices were very limited for the booking price. I wouldn't say the stay is worth the high cost. It's very far from Nainital and even from Pangot market. The road there is in very bad condition. Please don't go after 5-6 pm: the route from Nainital runs through forest, with no shops and not a single bike or car available along the way. What was shown in the video was completely different. There was no bonfire or songs and DJ, and none of the food items shown for breakfast and dinner were there.

The manager is a local person and has no sense of hospitality. The property also seems overhyped to me, and it felt like something fishy might explain how it got so many reviews. It's very small, with no nearby market or activities, and there's nowhere to roam around, so all you can do is stay in your room. They charge an extra 500 to use the heater, which makes no sense, and charge more if you want the bonfire kept going a bit longer. Maybe snowfall would make for a different experience, but otherwise there's not much to do. I never write reviews, but this experience was pathetic.

The prices stay fixed and don't change with the rush or season. The staff were great, and service went beyond what I expected. Rooms were very clean, and the staff did their best to meet our needs. Thanks to Mr. Mukesh, Mr. Pushkar and Mr. Girish for making the trip worth it.

The food was good and room service was okay. All the rooms face a balcony, and the place is good for people looking for peace. Nature lovers have plenty of treks and trails nearby. But it's a tiny property, with absolutely nothing near the hotel. I came after seeing it on YouTube and was a bit disappointed. It seems suited to couples who want to stay in their room all day and night, and I wouldn't suggest coming with family. The OTA expert faked the property.
