The Dukes Den Resort

For our daughter’s first birthday, we stayed at Bel La Monde, Jim Corbett. The complimentary birthday celebration they arranged was a lovely gesture, and we appreciated that the staff prepared a fresh meal for our baby. The food was delicious throughout, and everyone was polite, attentive, and cooperative. Our River Edge room looked out over the beautiful Kosi river, and the property had a luxurious, aesthetic feel. The room furniture and bedding could be better, though, as they didn’t quite match the price or the overall sense of luxury. Still, we had a memorable, pleasant stay and would recommend it.

Bel La Monde is child friendly, and the staff took good care of my child’s dietary needs. The food was really good, and the team members were among the best, polite and humble as well as efficient. Chef Deep Singh, Farooq Ahmed (Restaurant Manager), Girsh (Resort Manager), Nitu, Afaq, Himanshu, and Manoj all helped make our stay special. We spent three days there during the last week of December 2025, and it was a wonderful experience. The property’s private access to River Kosi was a highlight. Thumbs-up to Bel La Monde!

Mr. Lapendra from the Restaurant made breakfast and dinner especially enjoyable. He was courteous and attentive, the food was delicious, and he made sure we felt looked after. Mr. Manoj Kumar from the Front Office also deserves a mention for a smooth, welcoming check-in. He was professional, warm, and attentive, went out of his way to make us comfortable, and shared useful tips about the local area. From arrival through checkout, our stay at hotel Bel- La Monde Riverside was comfortable and seamless. The rooms were clean and well maintained, the amenities were excellent, and the atmosphere felt both relaxing and elegant. Thanks to the whole team for a memorable visit. We’d gladly return and recommend the hotel for its service and comfort.

The Kosi river access and view were the only redeeming parts for us. Those come from nature, not the management. The property itself was surrounded by dump yards, scrap, and waste, and looked like a junkyard pretending to be a resort. The rooms felt like abandoned structures hastily turned into accommodation, with little care for cleanliness or upkeep. We came for New Year after staff member umesh promised a well-managed experience, but we felt completely misled. Staff pushed a “two-day all-inclusive package,” which became a one-day only all-inclusive package once we arrived. There was no coordination, and we were given a room that was already occupied. Nobody apologized or acted with urgency, just made excuses. The staff attitude was shocking. They refused to work without extra money paid in advance, saying they were “busy.” It felt like the place relied on tips and bribes instead of professionalism. Basic hospitality was missing, and the service was chaotic and frustrating. This was a terrible experience and a complete waste of our money, time, and expectations. I’d advise people to stay away. If negative ratings were possible, I’d give one. This place doesn’t deserve a single star.
