Hotel Godavari

My wife and I stayed here recently, and the service was the worst. They completely refused to accept that we were a married couple, trusting a family photo over our marriage certificate.

I got my refund within 24 hours, so luckily I didn’t lose the money. But this felt like a huge scam. The policy clearly says unmarried couples are allowed, and that was the reason I booked, since from personal experience I knew many hotels and lodges don’t allow unmarried couples. I reached Hotel Godavari two hours early and only wanted to leave my luggage bag there. I knew my check-in time was early and didn’t ask or even request an early check-in. I showed them the policy about unmarried couples, but they flatly denied it, saying that Cleartrip made the policy, not the hotel. Either Cleartrip needs to check with the hotel, or these guys need to change their mindset.

The room was basic and didn’t have AC, but it was bigger than rooms in other hotels. A good budget option for a short stay.

It’s old, but better. They received us well and were friendly, so we can give it a try.
