Hotel Vaishali

The check-in was pleasant, with polite staff, but the experience changed after the shift change. Our room was tucked away with stored items piled in front of it, making the area look untidy. The blankets were thin and unsuitable for cold weather. Extra ones were provided when we asked, but they were in such poor condition that we found bed bugs. That was unhygienic and upsetting. The hotel advertises 24-hour hot water, yet after 4 PM we were told it wouldn't be available. The next morning, around 10 AM, the power went out. Reception first said the colony's electricity was down and would return in 15 minutes. It didn't. On our second call, the staff member replied rudely, saying, “This happens here. Whenever electricity comes, it will come.” After waiting 40 minutes, I asked about starting the generator. The receptionist gave a rude, strange answer and hung up. Our room was inside the building and became completely dark. We had to pack using our phone torches because it was time to leave. At checkout there was still no electricity or generator support, and the lift wasn't working. We were on the 3rd floor, so my wife, our 1-year-old baby, my 70-year-old father, and the rest of the family had to take the stairs. The one small relief was that the same staff member who checked us in was there at checkout and handled that process smoothly. Overall, service was very poor, the advertised amenities were misleading, and the conditions felt unsafe. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

The hotel's location near the Panchvati area is good, and our room was clean, but the restaurant was a real problem during our two-day stay. Breakfast choices were limited to Poha or Upma, listed at 30 rupees, while adding breakfast to the room cost 120 rupees extra. They also refused breakfast for our 2-year-old, saying it wasn't included. Room only would be better, with breakfast somewhere outside. Just avoid their Manali Restaurant. On both mornings we went there, they served stale food. The first day it was chutney from the previous day or earlier. They replaced it with freshly made chutney after we complained, so we thought it might have been a mistake. But the same thing happened again on day two, which made it seem deliberate. One night I called at 10 PM to order chapathi. The person who answered said it would take 15-20 minutes. After waiting over 30 minutes, I called again and was told nobody had received the order and the restaurant was closing, so they couldn't provide it. We had just been sitting there waiting for food. It was a horrible experience, and I'd give the restaurant a negative star if I could.

We stayed for three nights and four days, and the service, location, and overall experience were very good. The food was tasty and hygienic, and they delivered it to our room too. I'd recommend staying here while traveling.

I had a very bad experience with the receptionist. I had already booked the hotel with breakfast, but was still told to pay extra for it. There wasn't proper hot water either. I wouldn't recommend staying here with family.
