Purnima Hotel

The noise went on until 12:30 AM, with staff talking loudly and making a racket on the stairs. It felt like trying to sleep in a market. At check-in they weren't ready with my room at 12 PM, but checkout was punctual. The staff apologized, but that didn't fix things. I had to switch rooms twice, once for the Wi-Fi and then because of bed bugs. My first room had bed bugs and I was bitten. I still had lumps on my body 24 hours later. The next room was free of bed bugs but full of insects. I stayed there because I'd already paid, and from what I saw, Omkareshwar didn't have many good options. Wi-Fi also didn't work in some rooms, a smaller problem compared with the rest. The rooms were dirty, with hair in the corners and a waste bin that looked dirtier than its contents. The corridor had mud patches and seemed full of houseflies. Outside the hotel was muddy too, though that seems common around local hotels. The washroom floor was reasonably clean, but maintenance was poor, and even the ceiling wasn't properly cemented. I booked after reading positive reviews, including one saying the bed bug problem had been fixed. One review had mentioned bed bugs, but I trusted the overall positive feedback. I really don't understand who calls this place awesome. When I asked about the good reviews, I was told they write them themselves. If you want an honest review, this is mine. Google reviews are no joke.

For the price, it's a decent place for a night in Omkareshwar. It's about 5m from the bridge to Omkareshwar Jyotirling, and the service is quick. The manager helped arrange an early morning cab to Ujjain. Rooms are fine for a stay, though they could be cleaner and the bathroom fittings feel flimsy.

We stayed for two nights in the last week of December 2024, four of us as a family. The hotel managers were helpful and arranged travel for us to Indore. They also waited for us until 1:00 am and called several times to check where we were. The rooms were clean, the atmosphere was positive, and the hospitality was great. The location is excellent too. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Omkareshwar.

The room itself was good, but the nightly price felt high considering the surroundings, food, and room service. The Wi-Fi needs work as well. I'd be cautious with the food and stick to mild dishes, since it may cause stomach problems. For what the hotel charges, the stay could have been better.
