Aakash Rooms and Cottages

The cottage is around one kilometer from both the bus station and railway station, and management can arrange sightseeing vehicles. We found cheaper options through outside travel providers, though, so compare prices first. Access may be awkward for older guests since the cottage is below road level, something to consider if you're traveling with parents or senior citizens. We visited recently as a family and had a pleasant experience overall. It was April, and the weather in Ooty was warmer than expected, not cool and chilly. We booked through Agoda, and the rooms were much smaller than we'd anticipated from the app details. Staff were excellent, responsive, and helpful throughout. The food was good quality, though the quantity felt slightly limited, and it is available on a paid basis.

Being allowed to check in early was a plus, and the reception and other staff were quite friendly. The place is decent, within walking distance of the railway station and bus park, with plenty of nearby dine-in and takeaway options. Bathroom water was available 24×7 and the geyser could be used whenever we liked. I wasn't keen on the curry dishes, but the dosa, tea, and other breakfast items were good.

The market is somewhat nearby and the location is easy to reach, though not close enough to walk there. Rooms were neat and very clean, with hot water available 24x7, and service was prompt. Food can be ordered for breakfast, lunch, or dinner; it tasted okay. Parking was limited and an issue for our tempo traveller, but that was okay. Swiggy delivers here, so there are other varieties to try. We were visiting scenic viewpoints anyway, so the clean rooms and service mattered more to me than having a scenic view. For a family stay and time together, it's a good place to plan around.

The kids stayed entertained by the play room, and the huge TV was a pleasant bonus. We had a wonderful 2 night stay at Aakash Rooms, Ooty. Our room was spacious, neat, and tidy, with all the necessary amenities. They serve good food on demand, and room service was prompt every time. The staff were extremely helpful and cooperative. A great place to stay in Ooty!
