Magnolia Bed & Breakfast

After long days off-roading in my 4x4 through the Nilgiri valleys, the bed was exactly what I needed: a firm orthopedic mattress, comfortable cushions, fresh sheets, and a double duvet. I spent three nights at Magnolia B&B in Ooty, about a 10-minute drive or 20-minute walk from town. The rooms have nicely varnished colonial-style furniture, a useful desk, and two chairs. The bathroom was spacious, with a powerful hot-water geyser, towels, and handwashing liquid. There’s plenty of parking at the back, and everything was very clean, with no dust, rubbish, insects, or bad smells. Breakfast was a small selection of tasty, healthy South Indian home cooking, prepared with care and good hygiene. The staff were always around to help. Mr. BKM was a warm, welcoming host who treated guests like family and made the stay memorable. We could have talked all day. He shared stories about tea plantations, places to visit, driving shortcuts, and tips on tea, coffee, and chocolates to buy on the way home. Thanks for such a welcoming stay, BKM. Until next time.

The big tree outside the house, filled with chirping birds, made the place feel so peaceful. We had a lovely stay and felt at home, thanks to the friendly people there. Breakfast was home-cooked South Indian vegetarian food each morning, and it was sensational. Aunty also made carrot puree every day for my six-month-old son when I asked, without ever missing a day. Laundry is available, and Krishnamurthy Uncle can arrange a taxi or rickshaw if needed. He'd also ask how our day went and what we planned to do the next day. Food delivery is available online, and we could eat in the breakfast room.

There’s plenty of parking behind the property, and the place is quiet enough to sit and enjoy the view and birdsong. We stayed at Magnolia for three days, and the rooms were spacious and clean. Having a bathtub was a treat after a tiring day of sightseeing. Breakfast was amazing each morning. Krishnamurthy uncle made us feel at home, checking in daily about our plans and how the day had gone. He really made sure we were comfortable. A wonderful stay, and I’d definitely recommend it.
