At Milton Abbot by SaffronStays, the team made us feel at home, and the food was delicious. It worked well as an Ooty holiday home for couples or families. The caretakers made us feel at home right away. They were warm, attentive, and ready to help, and the fresh food suited our tastes perfectly. The bungalow is a peaceful spot among leafy surroundings, with a sprawling garden and elegant interiors, yet it’s close to the city. We stayed at SaffronStays Milton Abbott Estate in Ooty, the historic 1865 heritage bungalow, and loved its old-world character and calm atmosphere. Highly recommended if you’re looking for comfort and character in the hills.

The garden outside was decent, and the place is inside Ooty, though the location itself wasn’t especially scenic. The rooms were good and they provided heaters, but the TV didn’t work and there weren’t any amenities. We didn’t feel it was value for money, since there seemed to be better places with more amenities and prettier surroundings for the same price. We asked about food while travelling to Ooty, but staff said to discuss it after we arrived. We got there at 4:30 p.m. and were then told dinner had to be ordered before 3 p.m. They did agree to provide snacks and tea, and the food was good. Staff weren’t responding properly until we reached the property. On the second day we had a water problem. They let us use a nearby room, but the same issue persisted there, and only one of us could bathe. We had to leave without bathing.

The garden at Milton Abbot by SaffronStays was beautiful and peaceful, and there’s a special feel to the place in the mornings and at night. We had a really happy, relaxing family getaway last weekend, with great hospitality and delicious food, which can be hard to find in Ooty. The location made getting around easy: the Ooty Golf Club is a short walk away, and Ooty Lake is a five-minute drive. I’m already looking forward to another family trip. Highly recommended, and thanks to SaffronStays for a lovely stay.

My friend and I had a really nice time here. The rooms were beautiful, the atmosphere was pleasant, and lunch was very good. We enjoyed the stay a lot and would recommend it. A wonderful experience.
