The Tamarillo

The little things made this Ooty stay memorable. We had a quiet, cozy time by the campfire, and on our Women’s Day departure the staff wished me well and told us to have a safe journey. That thoughtful gesture stood out. The person helping us was welcoming and attentive from the start, and we felt at home. Our balcony-cum-terrace room looked out toward the mountains and felt like a peaceful break from the city. The grounds were lush and carefully kept, and everything indoors was spotless, from the comfortable room and fresh blankets to the well-maintained bathroom. Breakfast delivered to the room was tasty, especially the mini medhu vadas. It’s also a fun place if you like cats. With major attractions easy to reach, it felt like good value. I’d happily stay here again. The property deserves all five stars.

The balcony looked out over seemingly endless tea gardens, and the setting was quiet and restful. Tourist spots were nearby, too. We spent four nights at The Tamarillo and found the room spacious, with all the amenities we needed. Breakfast came hot each morning, with tasty, homely food, and the service was excellent.

We arranged a four-day cab trip through the homestay and got a wonderful driver. He drove carefully on Ooty’s winding roads and was especially considerate since we had our five-month-old with us. The hosts were warm, and every meal was delicious and comforting, like homemade food. The place itself was clean and cozy, surrounded by greenery and lovely views. It was a peaceful stay with our baby, and a great way to experience Ooty away from the crowds. We’d recommend Tamarillo Homestay for its hospitality, comfort, and genuine care.

Breakfast with my wife, looking out at the scenery early in the morning, was a real highlight. The cook is brilliant, and Madan was a terrific host who took care of everything we needed. Thanks to him, our stay was memorable. This is great value for money, set among mountains and greenery, and I’d absolutely recommend it. The room views were a bit disappointing, though. The first-floor room with a balcony was stunning, and worth the extra 1k if you’re considering it.
