G V Residency, Ooty is in a quiet spot away from city noise, while still being close enough to the main attractions. The rooms were spacious, clean, well maintained, and had good ventilation. I found it comfortable and neat for a short stay.

It's a convenient, budget friendly place for a group trip, and suitable for a longer stay with friends or family. The owner is a nice guy. A group can get a whole house with four bedrooms, a kitchen, and a hall with a dining area. Each bedroom has an attached bathroom and toilet. There's also a bonfire area inside the property with seating.

We had a great stay for two nights in September, thanks to @Happy_Escapes and Mohan. There were ten of us, on a family vacation. The property has two buildings, one with four bedrooms on the ground floor and four more on the first floor, both with the same layout. Another building has two bedrooms on its first floor. I think the ground floor there was used by the caretaker. We stayed in the four bedroom unit on the first floor, which is actually at road level. It had a hall with a 3+2 sofa set, a dining table and space, a kitchen, a common bathroom, and a balcony. Every bedroom had an attached bathroom, which gave us privacy, and two rooms had wardrobes. Each room had a TV, though I didn't check whether it got any channels. The rooms had queen beds and clean linens. There was no AC or fan, but we didn't need either. All bathrooms except the common one had geysers. The whole house was sparkling clean, including the bathrooms and carpets. The kitchen came without amenities or utensils. We told Mr. Mohan we only wanted to use it to make coffee, and he kindly brought us a gas stove right after check-in. We brought our own utensils. The balcony had an amazing landscape view because the property sits high up. There was no Wi-Fi. Drinking water was provided, but we were told to boil it first. There was a bonfire area, which we didn't use, though the guests downstairs used it both nights. Parking fits three cars; extra cars need to park outside. Mohan said it was a totally safe area, with military establishments nearby.

There are two homes at GV residency, one independent home and another with four attached rooms. We stayed there a couple of years ago, so we had the owner's number and called to book the independent home. He agreed at first. But when we called the day before check-in to confirm, he said there was only one room, not an independent home. He then said it would cost an extra 3,000 rupees for the independent home. We'd already paid half the rent, and he told us to pay more or cancel. I lost 2,900 rupees booking this place. It was the worst experience, and I strongly recommend against booking this residency in the future.
