Hotel Baisaran Pahalgam

I wouldn’t recommend this place. Room 208 and 207 are tiny, have no view, and you can hear people talking from another hotel. They showed us these rooms first, saying the others were booked, then charged ₹8000 for a small room in the deluxe category. The advertised size is 33 m², but the actual room is only 15.6 m², less than half. The room was described as deluxe, but the service wasn’t. The floor was dusty, the bathroom floor was wet and uncleaned, and the blanket was stained. Other cleanliness issues were neglected too. The shower was poor, taking almost 15-20 mins for hot water to come through, and there’s no hot water connection to the washbasin. If zero stars were possible, I’d give that. I’m going to complain to the hospitality and protocol department about the room size. I have the price email and room pictures, and I’m demanding a refund.

The rooms have a good bed, and I liked the spicy food. Ask the chef for a drink recommendation. Mr. Davood, who worked in the restaurant, was friendly and a good guy. The hotel doesn’t have a manual heater, which was very helpful. ;)

We felt at home from the moment we arrived, and the staff were attentive and friendly. The room was spotless, with a beautiful city view, and the bed was so comfortable. The amenities were top-notch too. We had a lovely stay and can’t wait to return. Highly recommend.

The mountain views are fantastic, and the hotel sits in the middle of the valley. We stayed for two nights and were happy with the experience. The service was great: staff were polite, brought our restaurant orders to the room on time, and responded right away when we needed something. The food was also good, with a wide variety, mild spice, and really nice Kashmiri Kahwa. I’d recommend the Breakfast + Dinner package since Pahalgam gets chilly and a bit quiet at night. The room was a little small and not very clean, though that seemed in line with what you’d expect from a 3-star hotel in Pahalgam. It had a heater, and hot water was available most of the time, which was a concern. The television didn’t work on Day 1, but the hotel fixed it. There’s no locker or platform for valuables, but our stay in pahalgam was short. There’s also no lift. Recommended for 2-3 nights.
