Solitary Nook

The service and room quality weren’t up to the level of the tariff. They ask for 50% in advance after attracting customers with resort photos and videos, but have no cancellation policy. In my view, having no cancellation policy is illegal under the law here. If you need to cancel because of an emergency, you won’t get any money back, and they’ll keep the full amount. I’d avoid this place when looking for resorts in Sunderban.

The scenery at Solitary nook was beautiful, and we were very happy with the service, rooms, facilities for the area, and our safe, enjoyable trip. There were nine of us, adults and children, and everyone was happy. We had a comfortable drive from Kolkata in a car arranged by Solitary nook, with a very nice driver, Dilip. At Godhkhali Ferry ghat, their arranged ferry was waiting to take us to Gosaba, where two more arranged cars were ready for our group. Our hosts, Tapas da and Goutam da, were very decent, and the cooking was the best, with Manash da making amazing dishes. The meals and tea were all good, and everything was provided as promised in the package. We also had bonfires both nights at a reasonable price. For sightseeing in different reserves, they arranged a private ferry for all nine of us and planned the visit around our needs. Fish fry and tea were served onboard. Even though we stayed one day at Sonar Bangla, they arranged our return trip to Kolkata without any questions. I don’t have pictures to back this up because of storage issues, but you can trust the Solitary Nook package.

The boat ride through the Sundarban forests was a real highlight, and the setting itself was lovely, with trees and ponds all around. Tapas and Goutam greeted us warmly, and every meal from breakfast through dinner was amazing. I couldn't believe how perfect the place was until the very end of our stay.

Dibakar da and Ritam da were such nice hosts. They were welcoming, and the food was really tasty.
