Goa Marriott Resort & Spa

Traveling with my toddler daughter, I really appreciated the excellent kids’ play area. The resort is child-friendly, and Racheal from reception and Delana Pai helped make our stay especially enjoyable. We visited Goa Marriott Resort & Spa in the first week of January and had a wonderful time. The beachfront setting gives the place a lovely feel, and the pool area is beautiful and well maintained. Staff were friendly, courteous, and eager to help. Service at the pool and restaurant was attentive and efficient, always with a smile. Great hospitality. I’d happily come back and recommend it.

Poolside and restaurant service was quick, attentive, and professional. A lovely family-friendly resort with great hospitality. I’d gladly visit again.

We’re only staying the next few days because we’ve already paid. If we hadn’t, we’d have left straight away. We came for our infant’s first vacation hoping for a comfortable, memorable stay, and this has been one of our most pathetic hospitality experiences. The service has been disgraceful from start to finish. We arrived at 4 p.m., but our room wasn’t ready. Although we’d booked and paid well in advance for a beachfront king bedroom, we waited for hours and were told at 6 p.m. that no king rooms were available. They offered us a twin-bed room instead. That’s unacceptable and shows terrible management and little regard for guests. Staff have been unprofessional, unapologetic, and painfully inefficient. Service is very delayed, coordination is nonexistent, and nobody seems to care about the inconvenience, especially for guests with an infant. I strongly would not recommend this property, particularly to families with children or babies. Save your money and peace of mind.

There were good things: the hotel sits by the sea with great views, and it’s in the heart of Panjim, which is handy if that’s where you want to stay. There are two pools to spread out the crowd, and the staff at the main pool bar were warm and hospitable. I’m a Silver member of Marriott Bonvoy, but check-in still came at 4:30 p.m., well past the standard time. They offered late checkout to make up for it, but the team wasn’t informed, so I kept getting a call or knock every 15 minutes asking me to leave. That was harrowing. A-la-carte food at the main restaurant was slow, too. The resort connects to Miramar Beach, but it isn’t private. Strong currents and frequent tour boats mean you can’t swim there, and it’s a busy beach anyway. For the price, this didn’t feel like a full five-star stay. I’d choose another resort at that price.
