The location was inconvenient for food, with no good restaurants within walking distance and no nearby non-veg options, though dukhniwaran Gurudwara is very close. If you need to work, there's no desk for writing or laptop use. The blanket was too thin even for early November, let alone the cold of Dec-Feb. During my two-day stay, nobody cleaned the room or collected the breakfast plates from the first morning until the next day. Room service was slow too: I had to call twice for water. I asked for regular drinking or RO water, but was told they only provide one mineral water bottle a day. I used two and was charged for them at checkout, with staff saying the bottles were entered in their register. MakeMyTrip lists mineral water as an amenity, so that left a sour taste. I checked into Room 302 on Nov 5 in the afternoon. It was very small, and its window faced the gallery used to enter the third-floor rooms, so the curtains couldn't be opened. There were cobwebs in the ceiling corners, the toilet flush didn't work, and the shower kept switching between boiling hot and cold water. When I complained, reception first said a plumber was coming, then said to wait half an hour. After another hour I asked to move. They gave me Room 103 on the first floor. It seemed better, but the toilet seat was broken, hair was scattered on the floor, and the shower had the same hot-and-cold problem, which seems common across the rooms. I'm never coming back. The rooms and service are poor, and you can find better options at a similar price.

Neem Leaf is a new property at a reasonable price, within walking distance of Holy Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib G. It was previously Patiala Grand. The location is nice, and the front staff, including manager Mr Ajay and Mr Jagjot, were warm and helpful. On my last visit it was raining when I checked out. Mr Samar from the front desk brought an umbrella and escorted me to the car without even being asked. I really appreciated that. OYO should enroll more properties like this, not local-type properties.

Capital O 44225 Neem Leaf is on Passy Road, opposite Gurudwara Dukhniwaran, a few minutes by road from Patiala Airport and a short drive from Qila Mubarak, Moti Bagh Palace, Tej Bagh Colony Park, Samania Gate, and Patiala Zoo. The rooms have tasteful furnishings, white walls and a patterned feature wall, plus a seating area. They include air conditioning, a king-sized bed, TV, geyser, and free WiFi. The property also has an elevator, CCTV, backup power, card payments, and parking.

Booked online through OYO on 01 Aug 2019, with confirmation and payment both completed, but when the guests reached the hotel they were refused a room. The manager's response was, "This is my hotel... you may have a booking, but we won't give you a room." Ridiculous. This is the worst hotel in Patiala.
