OYO 9658 Hotel Madhuram

The room and toilet were clean, and the stay itself was okay. The TV only had free channels, though. Service was poor: we had to ask reception for everything, from drinking water to a mosquito repellent machine. OYO customer care had promised us extra hours from noon until 4 pm, but the hotel wouldn’t let us stay, so after checking out at 12 we spent those four hours outdoors.

The room was dirty, and there was no hot water in the bathroom. When I asked, the manager rudely said the geyser wasn’t working and asked who uses hot water for a summer bath. The AC was switched off early in the morning, even though I’d paid an extra Rs. 500 for it, after being told on arrival that the OYO AC booking required an additional Rs. 500 per night. I paid because it was already late. The manager was rude, and the uploaded pictures are fake. If you want to lose your peace and money and get into trouble, this is the place. Be aware, it’s no good for anyone.

I’d booked an AC single room through OYO for ₹460, but when I arrived the owner said no room was available at that price. OYO support didn’t help when I called, and it was already dark, so I felt stuck and paid ₹999 for the room. Don’t book here.

The food was fresh and tasty, though expensive, and the surroundings were peaceful. The building and facilities were good, and staff behaved well too. Getting around was difficult because it’s tucked away, and at night there weren’t cabs or other transport readily available. A mixed experience overall.
