Hotel Samson

About a year ago, I overpaid ₹40,000/- for my booking at Hotel Samson, Patnitop. After repeated follow-ups and many phone calls over the past year, I still haven't received a refund. I'm sharing this for the public's benefit, so others can be cautious about making advance or excess payments. Please be careful when dealing with this hotel.

The hotel charges premium rates but the facilities and service are below average, so it isn't worth the money. The staff seemed untrained and unprofessional, without basic hospitality skills. The food quality was poor, and breakfast was a joke: hardly any choice, no salad, and only one fruit. The rooms were cramped and unsuitable for families, with a tiny wardrobe that seemed to be there just for show. Bathrooms were in pathetic condition, with slippery floors, a broken flush, and constant leaks. They didn't provide basic things like bathroom slippers. It’s overpriced and misrepresents itself. I wouldn't recommend it.

We spent a couple of nights at Hotel Samson and had a pleasant stay. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. Its location is nice, with a lawn out front where you can enjoy the morning sun or an evening bonfire.

Samson would be on my list to visit again. It was an amazing stay, and a perfect place to unwind, away from the town's hustle and bustle among the pine trees. The hotel staff were very good, especially at reception. We'd booked two rooms online in the wrong types by mistake, and they happily upgraded us to the higher category we wanted at no extra cost. A walk along the picturesque street is lovely at any time of day, and Naag temple is within walking distance, with food stalls nearby serving delicious hot food. The first floor rooms with balconies have beautiful views. There’s a bonfire at night, and the restaurant serves tasty lunch and dinner. Breakfast wasn't very elaborate, but it was tasty. I stayed at Samson in February 2025.
