Deotel Inn Pithampur by JMC

We stopped at Deotel for lunch on our way home from the temple, where we'd gone on our first wedding anniversary. The food was amazing, and Mr. Anuj at reception welcomed us professionally and explained the hotel before I ordered. He also played lovely romantic songs on the speaker, which made the anniversary feel extra special. A big thank you to the Owner for training the team to treat guests so warmly. Wishing Anuj ji, the Chef, and the whole Hotel Team lots of success.

We waited around 40-45 minutes for the order, and had to keep asking for basic things like water and tissues. When we asked about the delay, the staff answered rudely and seemed careless. The room was noisy and poorly kept too, with sticky tables that weren't cleaned before new customers sat down. The food was disappointing from the start. It tasted below average, some dishes were too salty and others bland, and nothing seemed freshly made. The presentation looked careless as well. The paneer butter masala and biryani we ordered were oily and smelled unpleasant, as if the ingredients weren't fresh. Portions were small for the price. Poor food, service, and hygiene made this a waste of time and money. I rarely leave a negative review, but I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. There are better nearby places with better food and more respect for customers.

The receptionist was very helpful and did his best to look after us. The room, check-in treatment, dinner service, and parking were all good, and the bill clearly showed the GST numbers, so things felt transparent. Still, twice around 1:30 AM, someone tried to open our ground-floor room door. Since anyone could reach those rooms directly from outside, it made me think twice about staying at highway hotels outside a city or town. There was a security person outside the main entrance, but I don't know who tried our door.

I went with my fiancé, but the front desk manager started asking about our relationship and spoke to us inappropriately. He kept arguing with my fiancé, behaved badly toward girls, and eventually showed him out through the gate. A lady was standing behind the man. I kept trying to shut the manager down, but he carried on. The way he talked to us was unacceptable, and I felt we were being harassed and misled. He doesn't know how to speak to customers or even communicate in English. The hotel needs to learn customer service and should get this rude, harassing manager out. I won't go back, and I'd tell others to avoid it. I can't believe this is how an Indian culture hotel treats people. 😡😡
