The Tendo Inn

The parking is good, and the stay is affordable. Most of all, the attender really looked after us and was very humble. We don't know Tamil, but he did his best to explain things clearly and took good care of the guests. We were new to the area and didn't know where the place was. I think it's near the busstand.

We enjoyed the family suite rooms, and the price was affordable. A room can accommodate two adults and one child, and they provided an additional bed. Parking for the car was good. There isn't a good restaurant nearby.

Tendo inn is close to the main NH and away from the crowded part of Pollachi town. The rooms are spacious and have the amenities you need, with plenty of parking if you're driving. A good option for a night near Pollachi.

The place is more like a service apartment than a typical hotel. Inside, there's a kitchen followed by two bedrooms with attached bathrooms. Cleanliness was decent overall, though there was visible dust on the bedsheet when we arrived. I wasn't sure whether the bedsheet and pillow covers had been changed, so I used the sheet I'd brought from home. The area is peaceful and easy to reach, about 4 km from the main city. There's no canteen, so you'll need to go out for food. I ate at Madhavin, a very good vegetarian restaurant around 2.5 km away. The hotel also arranged a taxi for our Valparai trip, at ₹4500 per day for up to 200 km, then ₹15 per km beyond that. I first tried to book online at the rate of ₹1800 + tax, but a network issue prevented it. The hotel's website only accepts GPay (UPI), not credit or debit cards. I called and booked directly instead. They charged ₹2000 per night plus ₹500 for an extra bed, making ₹2500 per night for three people. The room only had a double bed, though, and there wasn't space to fit an extra one. Charging the extra ₹500 was quite funny. The room is really only suitable for two people. The only backup power is UPS, with no generator if the electricity goes out. It's a good budget stay if you aren't looking for luxury.
