Dhanas Residency Pondicherry

We had a very pleasant stay without anyone disturbing us. Being on ECR road made travel convenient, and they have car parking too.

The surroundings were a little unclean, with an open ground in front that locals use as a drinking hangout. I wouldn't call it family-friendly, and the rooms don't get cross ventilation. Still, service was good when we arrived late: they answered the phone at 1 am and showed us the rooms.

They took an advance for a particular room on the 1st Floor, which they showed us when we booked. A week later, they offered a room at a different location, far away. I refused, and then they pressured us to take one on the 2nd Floor instead. There's no lift to either floor. I explained that we had elderly people and children who couldn't climb to the 2nd Floor, and asked for the 1st Floor room booked in our name. They wouldn't give us that room or return the advance. My advice is not to book here. They may change your room at any time and don't treat customers with respect.

Dhanas Residency is a family hotel in the heart of pondicherry. The reception staff were especially good with customers, polite and soft-spoken, and the TV and AC were working. The AC room tariff was very affordable, and they let us bargain. My family and I liked staying here.
