Hotel Green Palace

I got really angry about this. We went to the restaurant insidee to ask for coffee while waiting for our bus to arrive in front of the hotel. The person there said they’d only provide coffee if we ordered food, and wouldn’t sell coffee by itself. I don’t know how fair that is. We should be able to choose what we order and pay for it. Nothing is free anyway, we’re paying the price, including tax, whether it’s coffee or a water bottle. They shouldn’t say coffee is only available with food.

The receptionist brushed us off when we asked why no one had properly explained breakfast hours. He said the timing was “stuck on the room wall” and showed no concern about guest satisfaction. The kitchen staff were arrogant too. Breakfast is supposed to be served until 10:00 AM, but when we arrived exactly at 10:00 AM, there was nothing and they just said “time is over.” We’d already stayed overnight without complaining about the rooms, though they were completely damp and the bathroom was terrible, more like a sewage area than somewhere usable. No one seemed interested in serving guests or making the stay pleasant. It felt more like a dharamshala than a hotel. I strongly advise travelers to choose a nearby alternative instead.

The room wasn't well maintained, and the smell of smoke filled it. I couldn't get a response from room service in the morning. There was no hot water after 9.

The rooms are roomy, which helped, but much of the place feels dated. The bathroom needs attention in particular, from the old taps and fittings to the doors. I also spotted a few cockroaches. Food was just average, and the property needs quite a bit of updating to feel up to modern standards.
