Hotel Jayaram

The vegetarian restaurant was the standout for me. The ingredients seemed fresh, and the flavors felt authentic. I'm not vegetarian, but I'd still say the food is worth trying, especially the South Indian meals breakfast, which was easily my best meal in Pondy. Hotel Jayaram also made it easy to explore the French Quarter, with a peaceful feel and easy access to the beach. It had that relaxed, classic Pondicherry atmosphere. My room was spacious, spotless, and cozy, with lovely decor after a long walk along the Promenade. The staff were warm and polite, and helped with local sightseeing suggestions. I'd happily return.

I felt really uncomfortable when the room service staff member stayed in my room for a long time after finishing the service. I clearly told him to leave, but he kept standing there. Staff should respect guests' privacy and go once they've delivered what was requested. That behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable. I hope management trains staff properly on personal space and guest safety.

My family enjoyed our Pongal holiday stay while we explored Pondicherry. The hotel has a traditional look, decent rooms for a family, parking, room service, and is close to key places. Check-in was quick since I booked through the hotel website. We also liked the vegetarian food and complimentary buffet breakfast. One issue was that the sliding window locks in my room didn't work. Also, the check-in and checkout helpers and the car park security staff kept chasing customers for tips.

We chose a family suite, and the rooms and bathroom were both spacious and clean. The hotel is centrally located, with good parking and no trouble finding a space. Check-in was quick. The vegetarian restaurant served good food with good service, and breakfast on the 3rd floor had a tasty South Indian selection. I'll come back.
