L'escale Guest House

One of our favourite stays so far. We had a spotless, spacious and comfortable room with a balcony, plus thoughtful extras like soft towels, a fridge, kettle and bottle opener. There were fresh flowers in the shared spaces too. Sharmila, her mother and the staff were kind and helpful, and Sharmila was especially warm. The place sits on a quieter street just around the corner from the beach and promenade. We loved the Western/French breakfast on the lovely top floor, especially the fresh fruit, juice, croissants, pancakes and omelets.

The street can get a little noisy on weekends, but with the windows shut it was fine. The location is nice, and everyone, including the other staff member, was helpful. Sharmila and her mother are wonderful. Breakfast at this little guest house was easily the best we had in India.

Breakfast was tasty, with good variety, and Sharmila and the staff did a lot to make us comfortable. The White Town location is excellent, close enough to walk to the Rock beach promenade and evening food street. We asked for street parking, and they unexpectedly tried to hold a spot for us. The place was spotless, the staff went out of their way to respond, and there were no false promises. A rare find these days, and we'll definitely come back. Kudos to the team.

Mary and Sharmila, the mother-daughter pair who run Le Clarisse, were warm hosts, and the staff were very cooperative. We had a pleasant, memorable stay in a deluxe room on the first floor, equipped for a comfortable visit. Breakfast looked so beautiful on the table that we kept taking pictures, though a slightly larger portion would be nice. Being in White Town also meant we could enjoy the upscale neighborhood and its many French and other European restaurants. I'd highly recommend staying here.
