Lahe by Loka

Jeeva made things especially easy, arranging an airport pick-up, sharing suggestions for Auroville and promptly helping with my questions. The hotel breakfast was great, and my room was both lovely and comfortable. I really enjoyed staying at Lahe by Loka. It added a lot to my trip, and I'd happily recommend it.

The staff were courteous and professional, and my neat room made for a very peaceful stay. Lahe was quiet and calm, with a really aesthetic atmosphere. A great choice if you want somewhere peaceful away from a busy routine.

The breakfast was delicious, with 4-5 choices available to order, and we could ask for as many servings as we wanted. The pool was cleaned regularly, and there was open space for yoga. The small property had lovely landscaping, while our deluxe suite felt spacious, clean, and rustic. It worked well for a couple of nights, though we ran into a few odd, fixable issues. We had a toddler and asked for a bucket and mug for her bath. Staff said the limited buckets were all in use, so we had to wait until the next day. With probably 10 rooms, it seems like there could be one bucket per room. Dental kits and soap were only available on request. When I asked for two soaps, housekeeping insisted we could have just one per room because there was body wash. That felt strange over something that costs only a few bucks, and it spoiled the experience a bit.

The hotel is just opposite the Auroville globe, which made it a good base for touring Auroville. The rooms were tidy and comfortable for a family stay, and the place had a lovely atmosphere.
