Lotus Garden Guest House

This guesthouse is run by an extended family, and it felt like home. Dinesh, who runs it, is genuinely friendly and very helpful. He sits at his desk with his young daughter on his lap, and she’s just as smiley as he is. Guests are welcome to join the various activities if they want. There’s a lovely garden, and the guesthouse is quiet, away from the bustle of the village and Pondy. The restaurant serves great meals, snacks, tea, coffee, and fresh fruit juice at very reasonable prices. If you’d rather cook, there’s a communal kitchen with a fridge, gas burners, pans, plates, and cutlery. It was hard to leave. If we come back, we’d definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.

The backyard is beautiful and gives the place a calm, relaxed feel, a nice spot to unwind. We had a comfortable stay, and the owner was extremely helpful, sharing several recommendations that came in handy during our short visit. There are a few eateries a short drive away, plus a restaurant on-site. The staff said they host drum circles, but they weren’t running during our visit in the last week of December. They resume in January.

The peaceful, quiet setting made it easy to relax, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I had a wonderful stay at Lotus Home Stay. The owner was kind and helpful, and there’s a nice restaurant nearby, which made things convenient. Highly recommended 🌸

They held a drum circle on Thursday and charged ₹400, which felt too costly. Their friends got to take a drum and enjoy it for free, while those of us who paid mostly sat watching and wasted 400 bucks. If you’re in a group of 5-10 and good at dancing, it might be fun. Otherwise, it’s a total waste.
