Maison Perumal - Cgh Earth

My wife and I had lunch here, and the calm, positive atmosphere made it a real treat. The food was tasty too. Easily the best lunch experience of our stay in Pondicherry.

We ordered Kaalan Milagu Pirattal and Kozhi Varutha Curry, followed by Mango Icecream. The food was very well made with quality ingredients, so despite the high wait time and prices, we felt it was worth it. The Maison is a lovely place for a relaxed meal, with thoughtful surroundings full of greenery and a great ambience.

We celebrated New Years Eve here, and they put together a really enjoyable evening with a dance program, live band, and curated menu. Elbe, the manager, deserves a special mention. This is a lovely little hotel in a heritage Chettinad home, with outstanding hospitality and service. The room was somewhat small but had everything needed, and the restaurant food was good. The restaurant staff were very friendly too.

The little details really stood out during our three nights here. Our room was ready with an extra bed before we arrived, and when we left, the car was spotless and had water stocked in it. The staff were thoughtful about every need. Anamika at reception was gracious and kind, and took time to tell us about Pondicherry’s history. We also enjoyed the free bikes, while my wife and mom loved the complimentary mehendi. There were several activities available on site, some free and others paid. This beautiful Tamil heritage property was clean and homely, and only a short walk from White Town and the main beach. Parking can be tricky, so the valet service was helpful. Breakfast was outstanding, with hot idlis and dosas straight from the kitchen. They welcomed us with a garland, pooja, a refreshing drink, and a towel, a lovely touch that followed Indian tradition. Highly recommend for a no-fuss, homely stay with cultural character.
