Ram International Hotel

The complimentary breakfast was good, as were the evening snacks and dinner. But a few staff members treated us at breakfast as though we’d come for free food, which was disappointing and not acceptable. We stayed at Hotel Ram International, Pondicherry for a family holiday with kids, and it wasn’t a satisfying stay. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and room service was poor. I’m not sure this is a good choice for families with children. Management should pay more attention to guest feedback, maintenance, room comfort, and staff behavior.

We picked this hotel for its spot beside pothys, right in the city center. The location was good, but the hotel and rooms are very old and lack modern amenities. From a distance things look clean, though the sheets weren’t very neat. The mattress was uncomfortable, and noise from the busy street, outside workers shouting late at night, and loud neighbours left us with very disturbed sleep. The washrooms were clean but old, and we only got soap and shampoo sachets. Service was good, though everyone seemed to expect a tip. Not a good experience overall. They need to improve the amenities.

The hotel is in an excellent central location, and the complimentary breakfast was good. That’s the only reason I’m giving one star. The room condition was awful, and there was a strong bad smell in the lobby and corridors. Don’t eat at the restaurant. They really need to improve the hotel.

It was a pleasant stay, and the staff were helpful. We arrived before check-in, and they kindly kept our luggage while we went sightseeing. They do stick strictly to the check-in and check-out times, though. The property feels a bit old but has suitable amenities for a short visit to Pondicherry. It’s secure and centrally located, with convenient access to the main attractions.
