Villa Umar

The owners were so welcoming and kind, and breakfast was really tasty the few times I ate there. My room was bright and quiet, with two large windows that opened. The AC worked well and quietly, though I didn’t really need it. Everything was very clean, including the bathroom. They also provided free bottled water, and there’s a rooftop patio with a table, chairs and a laundry line. It’s a short walk to the restaurants and close to the stain station. I’d stay here again!

Rubina was there whenever I needed help, and she even found and returned the ear pods I’d left in the room. I really appreciated that. I booked an AC room through Agoda, but the booking came through as a non-AC room instead. Rubina helped me move to an AC room for the applicable extra charge. I spent a day in the non-AC room and then 2.5 days in the AC room, and the stay was good overall. If you’re visiting Pondicherry to explore and want somewhere comfortable to return to and rest, I’d recommend it. Thanks to Rubina for helping us throughout the stay!

We’d happily stay here again. The location made it convenient to visit the major tourist spots in Puducherry and nearby White Town, and the price was budget-friendly. My wife and I had a great experience at Villa Umar Homestay. Mrs. Rubina Begum and her husband were warm and attentive, making sure our needs were met quickly. They also offered scooter rentals and treated us to a delicious homecooked lunch.

The hosts were wonderful and always checked how we were doing or what we needed. They gave us tips on where to shop and even brought extra dishes to the kitchen when we asked. The homestay is in a quiet spot, with the tourist sites and a vegetable market nearby. We could use the washing machine and kitchen for an extra fee, which was handy while traveling with children. Really nice people, and I highly recommend staying here.
