Sandhra Apartments by OYO Rooms

This hotel was a dreadful mess in a messy location. The rooms were terrible, with broken AC, bugs in the beds, very old furnishings, awful mattresses, and terrible towels. It smelled bad, and there were flies everywhere.

This was the worst four-day hotel stay I’ve had. The building was old and shady, with damp, dodgy rooms. The toilet was stained and wouldn’t flush, the taps and pipes were corroded, and the lights didn’t work. The guy who had “cleaned” my room and brought breakfast was actually running a fever and had lost his sense of taste and smell, which seemed typical of COVID19. He refused to test himself and denied he could have an infection. My dad and I are now self-isolating and afraid for our lives. Is that what OYO considers a safe hotel stay? I’d paid extra for “breakfast,” which was bought from a random cheap streetshop. Since the guy was symptomatic, I told him not to bring me anything. Calling this place a hotel says a lot about OYO’s quality. I hope I don’t get the infection.

The room had a working air conditioner, the bed was just okay, and the sheets were washed and pressed. The person there was really helpful. He brought food, which was decent, though there was no veg food available. Nearby restaurants weren’t there. Most of what the oyo app promised didn’t match the room I got. There was no TV, free wifi, free breakfast, or car parking, despite what the app said and what they promised in the oyo group. The room was poorly lit, had no chair or proper table, and was full of mosquitoes. They did nothing to reduce them after I complained. Sunlight didn’t come in, and there were no towels or soap in the washroom, so bring your own. Cockroaches were playing hide and seek in there, at least 6-10 of them. Don’t choose the hotel based on the facilities listed in the oyo app.

A nice stay with a humble caretaker. The location is remote, but 100% safe.
