Gold Coast Beach Resort

The food was good, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the staff were courteous. We spent two nights here as a family and found Gold Coast Beach Resort conveniently placed near Marine Drive, about 200 meters from the beach. A pleasant spot for a relaxed getaway.

We were traveling with my parents, daughter, and dog, and I left feeling this was a terrible stay. The hotel is far from the beach and hemmed in by other buildings. One window gave only a tiny glimpse of the sea, so calling it a “beach property” felt misleading. The rooms may be big, but that was about the only positive we were told about. The AC leaked, the fridge was filthy, the bathroom flush didn't work, and the beds and pillows were deeply uncomfortable. Food was just okay and far too expensive. These problems aren't apparent when booking online. The manager, staff, and owner were rude, especially to older people. The owner, a tall, heavy man with glasses, was particularly unpleasant and kept threatening us. My mother accidentally lost a room key. My father paid for it, but they still demanded more money. When we were leaving the next day, they locked the gate and wouldn't let us out until we paid extra. My elderly parents were insulted in front of everyone. We also felt unwelcome because we had our dog with us. There were hardly any other guests, and I can see why. It felt like they were trying to get more money from whoever stayed, and things got difficult when we disagreed. I'd avoid this place. There are many better, more honest hotels in Puri, and I regret booking here.

I had a really nice time here. The restaurant's beach view was lovely, and the seafood was especially tasty. My room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were kind and quick to help. Highly recommend Gold Cost Beach Resort.

The people were good, but service was slow, and the rooms didn't look like the pictures.
