The owner was very supportive and can arrange rental bikes and cabs. Getting to the market or beach is easy from here. It’s a nice option for a budget stay close to Puri beach, though service is very slow. If you’re willing to wait for your food, trust me, it tastes really good.

This was a traumatic stay. The staff were quite rude, and even after I clearly asked both the receptionist and restaurant staff every day for four nights to leave out all spices and chilli, they kept adding a lot. There wasn’t even a water kettle in the room, despite this being called a 3 star property. We booked a room for three people, but on arrival they gave us a pathetic ₹200 mattress to sleep on. It could leave you with insomnia and back pain for life. They advertise the rooms as sea view, but what you see is a huge stretch of trash. Don’t go onto the balconies either, they’re filthy and covered in algae. Everything about the property was horrible. I’m attaching pictures so others can spare themselves the misery.

After nearly 12 exhausting hours of travel, we arrived and were told we wouldn’t get a room, even though we had booked through Booking.com with pay on arrival. It was listed as Hotel Gajanana / Kalraxia Gajanana. The whole experience was one of the worst trips of our lives. Finding the place took over an hour because the Booking.com location was completely wrong. Even local people hadn’t heard of the hotel under its online name. The number listed for contact was answered by someone extremely rude and unprofessional. When we asked for directions and confirmation, he wouldn’t give clear instructions, used abusive language, and eventually blocked our calls. At reception, staff looked at each other and first said they didn’t take online bookings. Then they said there were no rooms, and after that claimed we hadn’t paid, though our booking clearly said pay on arrival. We’d also spoken by phone about extra accommodation for our driver, but staff said they had no connection to the person we’d spoken with. We’d notified them in advance about our arrival, but they never called to confirm. Their only online reply was a casual “OK.” This looked like a deliberate scam to us. It was peak season and the online rate was cheaper, so the rooms were almost certainly sold offline for more. There was no professionalism, honesty, or accountability. Leaving travelers stranded after a long journey is unacceptable. Please be aware and don’t book this hotel. It shouldn’t be listed on Booking.com or any other platform.

The narrow street makes vehicle parking difficult. Still, it’s worth considering for a stay, with decent rooms and delicious food near the beach.
