There’s a pleasant open area with greenery, so the property feels peaceful. Kitchen facilities are available, which is convenient for longer stays, and the clean, comfortable rooms work for 2-3 people or a small family with kids. It’s about 1 km from the main temple, and the beach is a 10-15 minute walk. A Toto to the temple costs around ₹150. A comfortable, budget-friendly option for families visiting Puri.

After exams, we made a sudden plan to visit Puri and booked Jolly Holiday Homes, where lots of other students were already staying. It turned out to be the best decision. The rooms are clean and affordable, and the area is calm, just right for crashing after the beach. It’s easy to reach from the station and bike-friendly. Makes sense for a student group on a budget.

The place was comfortable, clean, and well maintained, which helped make our stay enjoyable. We had a good experience overall. A small shelf or rack under the switchboard would give guests somewhere safe to put their phones while charging. Mosquito nets on the windows would also make things more comfortable and help protect guests from illnesses like malaria or dengue. With those additions, the stay could be even better.

There’s plenty of air and light on the third floor, and steel fencing around the windows and balconies helps keep monkeys out. The market is a two-minute walk away, and the beach is 5-7 minutes on foot if you take the lane beside Camelia resort. Housekeeping was okay, water and electricity were available 24 hours, and an older lady was always ready to help. The nearby market also means the neighborhood is extremely untidy, and the lanes are very congested with heavy traffic. The place needs maintenance. Bathrooms should have a basin and a rod for towels or clothes, and not all have western-style toilets, some are Indian style. Rooms need at least one wardrobe, and some could use AC. This was my first holiday-home stay in Puri, and it didn’t go that well, maybe because I didn’t know enough or research properly. The homestay seems to compete with nearby hotels through the managers’ honesty and humility. If these suggestions seem fair, please address them. Jay Jagannath 🙏
