Hotel New Park

The garden seating area and clean pool were nice, and we had a good lunch at the restaurant. Some dishes weren’t available, and the place lacked atmosphere. Inside the room was another story. Two wasps were there when I arrived, possibly getting in through gaps around the Aircon unit. It didn’t work and looked like it might be from the 1970s. The room felt dated and unclean, with hairs on the bedding and floor, bindis stuck around the room, and a bathroom that really needs refitting. A proper clean would make a big difference. There was no hot water, no bin in my room, and almost no amenities beyond soap and glasses. The walls are paper thin. I was woken by people at reception at 22:30, 2:45, and then a family at 6:30. Loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed in, so don’t come here expecting a good night’s sleep.

The hotel is a bit far from the main market and ghats, so you’ll need transport to get around easily. Still, it’s a good fit if you’re after quiet surroundings, comfortable rooms, and a nice view. When I stayed recently, the ambience was calm and well maintained, and the rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. A pleasant stay overall, just keep the distance in mind when planning.

There’s good greenery around the place, and the people we met were simple and behaved well. It’s a nice place, though some maintenance would make the resort better.

I had a horrible stay. I was racially attacked, and nobody did anything. The rooms were dated and service was poor. I reported the incident to my tour guide, who phoned reception about it, but nothing was done. We have evidence and the times of the incident, and this was given to the guide and hotel. I’m ashamed this happened. This is not an allocation.
