Hotel Royal Castle

We booked this hotel for a wedding function, and the mismanagement turned the whole wedding into chaos. I wouldn't book this place for a special day or any function. It has two or three decent rooms, but the rest were in terrible condition, and the service and staff behaviour were the worst part. Although we'd shared the guests' arrival times, the rooms weren't ready. They smelled bad and still had belongings left by previous occupants, so our guests waited over two hours. Food arrived 30 minutes to an hour late, and refills were extremely slow, leaving people waiting. They had agreed to several important services and charged us extra for them, then denied both providing the services and taking the charges when the time came. Staff were very slow and didn't care about service. They were even asleep during a 10 am check-in and didn't bother coming to reception. We paid for premium decor but got basic decorations at the last minute. They refused to change it or adjust what we'd paid. I'm attaching photos.

The room was good, but room service took a while and the food could be better. There's only a small parking area, especially a problem when there are big events like weddings.

The location is the one good thing here. The rooms are soggy, and the shared areas aren't maintained. Booking online gets you a discount, while the offline price is higher, which should be the other way around.

I liked some dishes, especially the dahi vade and fish fry, but most of the rest was just okay. The cutlery needs improvement, too, and the serving staff couldn't tell us the dish names properly. I hope you're listening and will work on it.
