Hotel Vijay

The dining hall was filthy and smelled like a fish market. The food was expensive and tasted bad. Room service was terrible too: we ordered food at 7 pm and it arrived at 10:30 pm, served rudely. On the second day, they refused to serve our food at all. The room had no windows for ventilation, and the stuffy smell in the closed room was unbearable. The landline didn’t work. The old staff member was rude and had no manners or respect for guests. The front desk manager seemed good at first, then showed his real colours. We had to leave early because of an urgent issue, after planning to stay three days. We told the manager, but he refused to consider it and said we had to pay for all three days even though we stayed only two. We couldn’t stay there, yet had to pay for three. The manager also overcharged us because we arrived early in the morning. This establishment is a SCAM. I don’t recommend it at all. Read reviews before booking. I’d give it zero stars if that were an option, so it gets one. Overall, a very bad experience.

The food was delicious, and Sudhir kumar and an uncle who worked there were good to us and cooperative. Still, we somehow got through just two nights at this hotel, and I’d suggest checking reviews before booking. We booked one room for two nights. During booking, they sent pictures via wp and we chose one. Then they called and said the room we wanted was a family room that wouldn’t be available, so we had to change our booking. We thought they’d give us a room from the pictures, but at first they gave us something different. When we went back to reception, they said, “Fine, if you don’t like it, give back the key and go. You’re paying an advance,” with a lot of attitude. The room was in poor condition. The bed was okay, but the sheets were dirty, the blanket was very thin, and they gave us no towels or water glass. When we complained, they insulted us. After a heated argument they moved us to another room, which also wasn’t good, but we managed. Its window was broken, and I attached some pictures of the room. We had asked for a first-floor room, but they put us on the third floor beside the rooftop, where it was very cold. The owner, Mr. Vijay, was very rude at first, as was an aged person there. The owner behaved a little better later.

The room was clean and well looked after, with a cleaner coming each morning to keep it tidy. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, and the meals they brought us were fresh, tasty, and satisfying. I stayed for 2 days and had a wonderful experience. It’s a comfortable place with good service and food, and I’d recommend it.

A so-so budget hotel. The roads right beside it are very dirty, but it’s easy to get to Rajgir tourist places. Affordable, with good connectivity.
