Hotel Amman Residency

There was no hot water at all, and the toilet was filthy and not fit to use. My stay was awful and fell far below any reasonable standard. I expect the hotel to deal with these serious problems immediately.

Service was barely there, and even basic cleaning was neglected during our stay. At Amman Residency in Rameshwaram, the cramped corridors and very limited parking were also a hassle. The bathroom was small and poorly kept, the bedsheets weren't clean, and the overly soft cots were uncomfortable. With the poor upkeep and lack of attention, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who cares about comfort and hygiene.

Around 5 in the morning, clanging and shouting in the corridor woke me and my baby. People were cooking at one end, and the noise carried everywhere. When I raised it with reception, they asked whether anyone had told me about it at check-in. Seriously, who'd choose to stay if they knew they couldn't sleep? I booked because the room was listed as soundproof and air-conditioned, but the soundproof claim was clearly untrue. They offered another room downstairs, but moving everything, getting settled again, then checking out a couple of hours later was hardly a solution, especially with an infant. Check-in itself had gone smoothly, the morning staff were nice, and they charged only about 200 extra over the amount bookings.com quoted, which was okay. I booked a room for 29-30. Thanks for ruining my trip.

The room conditions raised serious concerns, including a guest's report of being kept awake by bedbugs. I also found the staff behavior unacceptable: one employee rudely told a guest to “get out” just for asking about a discount. On 31st January 2025, the quoted price was ₹3,500 for non-TN guests and ₹2,500 for TN guests for the same accommodation. Different rates by state, rude service, and those hygiene concerns made this a very unpleasant experience. I'd think twice before booking.
