Hotel Ganesh Palace

The location was the only good part of my stay. The service was the worst I’ve ever had in a hotel. The receptionist on duty from afternoon into the evening was especially rude. His manner made a terrible first impression of both him and the hotel. I’ve never seen anyone behave that rudely or provide such bad service. I’d ask the hotel to have a more polite receptionist.

I booked in a hurry while traveling to Rameshwaram on a busy temple trip in Tamil Nadu, relying on the Goibibo ratings. The stay was a real disappointment, and it affected my trip. The hotel is quite far from the temple, which made it inconvenient. The rooms were dirty, the washrooms poorly maintained, and service was extremely unsatisfactory. Staff didn’t respond to basic requests. When we asked for transport help, they kept us waiting nearly two hours, then arranged a car in very bad condition and charged a high commission for the cab. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The hotel is far from the temple, and the staff were very rude. They wouldn’t even provide drinking water. Instead, they told us to go fill it ourselves on the second floor. If they can’t meet such a basic guest need, I don’t understand why they’re in the hospitality business. They call themselves a 3-star hotel, but after this treatment I wouldn’t give them even one star. The service here could spoil your trip, so don’t choose this place.

We got to the hotel on foot from the railway station in about 8-10 minutes. We’d booked by phone, checked in at 5 am, and left at 6 pm. The hotel staff also helped arrange a tourist minibus and suggested hotels. The water heater worked quickly and well. The bathroom was clean and hygienic, with basic things like a mirror, decent locks, soap, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and towels. There were a few hard-water stains, but it was still pretty clean.
