Hotel Park Plaza Rameswaram

Mr Murugan at reception was very helpful. He gave us guidance and arranged an auto at 4.00 am when we checked out. We stayed with family for two days. The room was a little small but manageable, and everything, including the washroom, was kept very neat. The temple is within walking distance. Mosquitoes kept coming in through the bathroom, so after we told them, they gave us a coil and covered the window with a towel. A mesh would have been better. The hotel doesn't have an attached restaurant, but we found a very good one nearby on the next street called Ashok.

The hotel's main advantage is that it's close to the temple and beach. We arrived early and had called ahead about getting an extra room until our noon check-in time. Staff said it was possible for extra money, which we agreed to pay, but when we got there they denied making any commitment and said all rooms were full. Booking through online portals also got us no proper check-in response. We were very disappointed. The room maintenance was poor: during the rains, water leaked in through the AC pipe hole and into the enclosed corridors. The bedsheets, pillows, and walls were dirty. I wouldn't recommend it for a family stay.

Rooms had very little space, and the listing on Google maps makes them look larger. There was a broken telephone and a TV that seemed to be there just for show. They also left used, dirty jugs and plates in the rooms. Please improve the conditions and give tourists at least a comfortable stay. Don't book before seeing and confirming the room.

We'd booked early check-in for two rooms at 3am, but when we arrived there weren't any rooms available. They even refused to return the advance. After half an hour of discussion, they gave us one room. The lift didn't work, so we had to carry all the luggage ourselves. They didn't provide towels or toiletries unless we asked, and even drinking water meant going downstairs to reception. A horrible experience, I wouldn't recommend this place.
