Emerald Hotel

By the time I finally got settled, it was around 10:30 PM, so a short overnight stay turned into a lot of time spent sorting out room problems. I booked through Agoda and checked in at 7:00 PM on 21st February 2026, then checked out at 7:00 AM on 22nd February 2026. I didn't take photos, but the disruption was significant. The first-floor deluxe room I was given looked like one of the oldest rooms in Hotel Emerald, Ranchi. There was visible seepage on the walls and no intercom, so I had no direct way to contact the front desk for basic needs. They changed my room after I raised this, but the geyser in the next room's bathroom didn't work, which meant moving again. Staff did respond when I asked, but having to switch rooms repeatedly suggests the rooms weren't properly inspected before check-in. The final room had working essential facilities, though the bathroom area still had considerable seepage. In my experience staying at various hotel chains, this felt like basic quality control was missing, with guests left to find maintenance problems themselves. I hope management takes this seriously and tightens its room readiness checks. The stay fell short because of maintenance and inadequate pre-checks.
