I’ve stayed at Le Lac Sarovar Portico, Ranchi since 2020, and it’s my first choice unless it’s full. I checked in again on February 27, 2026. The staff service and food are as good as ever, and their hard work is what keeps the hotel’s reputation going. The property is about 15 years old, though, and the rooms need an update. The interiors look dated, some charging sockets are old or loose, the AC doesn’t cool well, and the bathroom shower needs fixing. The hospitality is 5-star, but management should renovate the rooms and address these technical problems to keep this as my favorite hotel.

Both rooms I booked had A/C that didn’t work, so we spent the whole night in the heat. They only brought a stand fan in the morning, and I felt the stay was a waste of money. I complained, but nothing changed and they denied there was a problem. I booked through agoda, and when I raised it there, they lied about what happened. Please choose another hotel. This place doesn’t deserve even one star.

This was my first time at the hotel, and it turned out to be excellent value for money. The service was great, and Priti and Pinki at the front desk were especially sweet and helpful.

The buffet dinner wasn’t what we expected, and the food was extremely spicy. We even found hair in it. Since I couldn’t eat anything from the buffet, the only saving grace was that they made me some good, non-spicy fried rice afterward. I’m not coming back.
