At Grandeur Deluxe, the good points were the pleasant ambiance and spacious rooms. The room service staff, both the men and women, were decent, but the manager was the complete opposite. I would not recommend this place for a woman traveling solo or a group of women because of security concerns, and dealing with the manager was a real challenge. I’d avoid the so-called complimentary breakfast. It wasn’t served as a combo, and the food was prepared on the ground floor in a place that seemed really unhygienic. I wouldn’t even call the food makers chefs. O' Dam Restaurant or Zomato would be better choices. At checkout, the manager charged me for that breakfast even though it was supposed to be complimentary. The omelet was incomplete, with no onions, green chilis, or salt, and the parathas came without curd or chutney. There was no free drinking water. I had only four Bisleri bottles, but was charged for 11 bottles I hadn’t consumed. I understand drinking water should be free as per the law. When I asked for an itemized bill, the manager had no record of my water consumption and still charged me forcefully. The reception area was a mess and dirty, with people eating, drinking, and sleeping there. It was full of men, including a toilet cleaner who sat chatting for long stretches. Male staff members staying next to my room were drinking liquor during duty hours with their door open, and were dressed pathetically. The manager slept on the reception couch in just boxers and a vest, whether it was day or night. His behavior and appearance were unprofessional, and he always seemed sleepy and drunk. At checkout, I asked him to contact the owner so I could understand what I was being asked to pay for, but he said the owner wasn’t responding. The checkout turned into a mess, and the last-minute argument pissed me off. The security guard was a little rude, spoke rubbish to me, and wouldn’t let my Ola cab pick me up at my location. I wasn’t given a proper bill, just a piece of paper without a date, name, or address. The manager kept saying it was a new property, so there was no bill.

The peaceful setting is the big draw here. It feels like a resort, tucked inside Rock Garden beside a lake, and would suit couples or anyone looking for privacy and quiet. Service could use some work, though.

Stayed inside Rock Garden, Ranchi, at this newer property near Kanke Road. The manager was friendly, and the rooms were spacious.

The hotel sits in a lovely, scenic spot, but its facilities and infrastructure don't really meet the mark.

The location is amazing, and the rooms are just okay. Service was bad. Pick your card.
