The rooms are okay and service is good, but the hotel itself is decent at best. It's in the market area, so things get crowded at peak hours. Car parking is shared space around 100mtrs from the hotel. If you're travelling with little kids, avoid the lift, it's not safe at all.

During Christmas week I stayed in an AC Deluxe Room at Shanti Palace. It worked well as a clean, affordable base, especially for catching buses, though the market around it is crowded. The washroom was clean and the staff were polite and helpful. A few things didn’t match the package claims: even basic water like Bisleri or an equivalent costs extra, and the tea and coffee vending machine looked poorly maintained. There’s no parking either, which could be an issue if you arrive by car. A reasonable budget stay if location and cleanliness matter most, as long as you don’t expect free items or parking.

My stay was horrible, and I wouldn’t recommend this place. The rooms and washrooms were extremely dirty and smelled terrible. There was no hot water, and the promised Wi-Fi wasn’t available. The commitments weren’t kept.

The place was really dirty, and the staff seemed more interested in watching Insta reels than doing a better job. They were also annoying and kept disturbing my rest. A pretty bad hotel.
